The handle is made of horn tip traditionally used in cutlery. Horn Tip is the most popular material especially on Laguiole knives. With variations of color ranging from blond to marbled, through gray or a milky white, the natural variations are multiple. The polishing of this Laguiole is shiny, perfectly highlighting the texture and the coloring.
The damascus blade is composed of 250 layers of forged welded and bent steel. This manufacturing process shows the expertise of blacksmiths from the forge of Montézic for Laguiole in Aubrac. The blade cannot be engraved.
Handcrafted in french countryside area :Aveyron, our Laguiole en Aubrac knives with double plates retain the traditional shape. But are particularly worked in comparison with the classical range (simple plates). Indeed an additional plates (on each side of the spring) are finely hand worked. Then chiseled both inside and outside. The bee and spring are forged, thus forming a single piece. Guarantee of quality, then chiseled. The left side is decorated with 6 stainless rivets in the shape of the shepherd’s cross.
